’Peaceful protest’: Trump defends audience who didn’t maintain social distance

President Trump said members of his Bedminster country club who were present at an official White House press conference were attending a ’peaceful protest’ Friday night when a reporter pointed out that the guests appeared to violate the state’s coronavirus guidelines. The comment from Trump drew cheers from the supporters. He went on to argue the crowd was protesting the news media.
