Microsoft and Facebook have slammed Apple for restrictive App Store policies, which they say prevent them from launching gaming services on Apple devices. Facebook says it has had their gaming app rejected multiple times by Apple. Earlier, Apple blocked the Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming service. Apple says the services are not allowed because they can’t review games available on cloud platforms.
Apple is a massive player in the gaming industry. iOS games are a massive industry, even if “gamers” reject them.
If cloud gaming is the next big push by Google, Microsoft, and the like, count me out. My community in Charlotte has a hard time getting past 3MB/s (DSL), where we got more like 20MB/s (bytes, not bits,) for the same price in Baton Rouge. Heck, my dad had fiber optic at our house 24-ish years ago in Pittsburgh, but now we're on some "high speed" DSL, with no better option, fml. ... Residential and other ISPs have done nothing good in decades.
Who cares? People dont buy apple for gaming... unless its mobile gaming
Cloud gaming isn't really possible on any platform unless you are living in a big city with to tier internet. Maybe it will sick less in 20 years, but stadia is a waste of time and money right now.
