Seattle Police chief resigns as violence riddled cities slash police funds

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best has announced her resignation the same day the city council approved cutting the police department by nearly $4mn and 100 officers. Her announcement comes as law enforcement organizations across the country are experiencing serious budget cuts amid the push to defund the police. That’s happening despite an increase in crime in many major cities.

First they defang the police (google the news doc "Seattle is Dying") and now defund them. Seems like the goal of the Seattle city council is to dismantle the city. The real question is how do these nutjob council people keep getting elected???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but she seemed to want to do something about the "protests" and chaz/chop instead of a forced retreat... Right? Do the people who live there really want what is happening to continue to happen? I understand these towns out left are definitely more "progressive"... Whatever that means....but I can't understand why people who do hold these beliefs want to go back to a less secure way of life. Or is it just the leaders that they voted in? Anyone live out there care to share?
