US inks $1.5bn deal with Moderna for 100mn doses of Covid-19 vaccine

The US administration has reached a deal with Moderna to deliver 100M doses of the company’s Covid-19 vaccine once it is approved for around $1.5B. Moderna’s vaccine candidate is on the final stage of testing and is on track to be completed in September. Its price per dose comes to around $30.50 per person for a 2-dose regimen. The deal is contingent to unspecific timing benchmarks for delivery.

Wierd how Moderna got the virus contract. I wonder how that happened? I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Moncef Slaoui is a former exuctive for the company, now head of HHS. Sure he "divested" himself from the company, but anyone that thinks he isn't still in bed with them is just putting their head in the sand. Who appointed him to that postion? Trump, the guy who claimed he'd drain the swamp, then proceeded to appoint swamp creature after swamp creature to positions of power. Too bad there isn't a better candidate than Trump
