Study reveals coronavirus led to more ’excess deaths’ in NYC than Spanish Flu

A study by Harvard has suggested that the novel coronavirus pandemic led to twice as many ’excess deaths’ in New York as compared to the Spanish Flu. At its peak, there were 4.15 deaths due to the coronavirus for every one that occurred between 2017-19. That Spanish Flu, in contrast, led to 2.8 deaths for every one between 1914-17. Of course we can't compare it to a flu that happened a 100 years ago. But we can compare how prepared we were for it and what our governments did to handle it. Any thoughts on who was actually able to manage well so far?
