AMD’s new A520 motherboard chipset is great for 3rd Gen Ryzen budget PCs

AMD has officially lifted the lid on its latest entry-level chipset designed for its Zen 2-based Ryzen 3000 and 4000 processors, the A520 chipset. Following AMD’s mid-tier B550 chipset launch a few months back, A520 brings up the bottom of AMD’s now fully-modernized chipset stack, dialing down on things like PCIe speeds to allow its board partners to build more budget-friendly motherboards.

It looks like this is a "budget" version of the B550, which has been out for some time now and works perfectly well with all 3000 series Ryzen chips (unlike the B450 motherboards). The Ryzen 3600 is more than most would need for gaming; the premium you'll pay for a 3700X isn't worth it unless you're doing something extremely CPU-intensive that will actually utilize the extra cores (e.g., video encoding, machine learning, etc).
