California declares state of emergency over wildfires

Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency Tuesday as some 30 wildfires rage across California. The fires have been exacerbated by the unprecedented heatwave in the West Coast area, as well as sustained high winds.The proclamation speeds up the availability of resources to fight fires. Evacuation orders have been given in Alameda, Contra Costa and Stanislaus counties.
