The Trump administration Monday approved an oil and gas leasing program within Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – which environmentalists call the nation’s ’last great wilderness’.The action will open the pristine 19M-acre wilderness to drilling for the first time, after more than 30 years of oil-industry lobbying for such access. The leasing auction will begin around the end of the year.
I'm not sure if I like this plan. I favor domestic drilling and refining but I don't see why we have to drill on a wildlife preserve.
