New COVID-19 outbreak hits Madison state prison; 145 inmates 34 staff infected

A new COVID-19 prison outbreak is occurring at the Madison Correctional Institution as a total of 145 inmates tested positive as of Thur., with results awaited on about 100 more inmates. Thirty-four staff members have contracted COVID-19, with 24 now recovered. No prisoners are reported to have recovered amid the new outbreak. No deaths have been reported among staff and inmates at Madison.
