Amazon erects booths for employees’ mental health

Amazon has offered employees the chance to use a small booth to wind down from stress at work. The move has been criticized, with many seeing it as insulting, and reflecting a culture of ignoring the health of their staff. Controversy has been steadily growing over many years, with staff complaining of bad conditions and little respect from the company’s management.

We've gone from men building skyscrapers and fighting wars to people needing cry booths while working in an air conditioned state of the art warehouse. I don't mean to downplay anyone's struggles at a job but compared to any time in human history we should be overcoming the need for crying booths, not installing them. Anyone else see the scary writing on the wall or is it just me again?

Amazon's business plan: 1. Terrorize workers for not working hard enough. 2. Build booths for workers to cry in, leading to them not working hard enough. 3. ??? 4. Profit.

Surely this out of sight, out of mind approach is a lurching step backwards for how we approach mental health?
