US charges Teva in generic drugs price-fixing probe

The DOJ charged Teva Pharma on Tuesday with conspiring with competitors to raise prices for generic drugs. The DOJ has been investigating allegations the company colluded with other drugmakers to push up the prices of widely used medicines including a high cholesterol drug. However Teva in a statement said that it firmly rejects the allegations and will vigorously defend the Company in court.

If found guilty there needs to be real jail time for those involved and massive fines to the company. This kinda thing is not treated anywhere nearly harshly enough.

Great now how about actual big pharma or changing the laws on drug patents to be consumer friendly. my prescription costs 15k A MONTH and I'll die without it. Not genetics, just random bad luck (for why I need it). Can you afford 15k a MONTH to stay alive for you family at at 37?
