Australia to tighten control over states’ and universities’ foreign deals

The Australian government is planning to introduce legislation which would enable it to veto agreements made by local governments and public organizations with foreign governments. The bill would require deals with foreign countries to get final approval from the foreign affairs minister. The move threatens a deal Victoria state agreed with China, to sign up to China’s Belt and Road initiative.

It's great to see any nation move against CCP machinations. The Chinese have been caught several times plundering gullible or outright treasonous universities of vital technology. The eerie loyalty many academics and local officials have for the communists is appalling.
