Hundreds to lose jobs at BMW Mini car plant in Oxford

Some 400, out of 950, agency jobs will be cut at BMW Mini’s Oxford plant after the car maker announced it would reduce the number of shifts at the plant, moving from a three-shift pattern to two shifts from mid-October. The factory, which employs over 4,000 people, stopped production in March at the start of the coronavirus lockdown, and resumed work in May.
