The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported that the state is facing a shortage of inmate firefighting crews as a consequence of the state’s early release program. As many as 17,600 inmates were released early by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in order to protect the prison population and staff amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Seriously, complaining about the lack of slave labor available to stop wildfires? The optics of that are not so good.
Novel idea... Hire those who previously fought the fires as prisoners at a regular wage. Allow them to become firefighters, especially considering they were not violent criminals.
Everybody! Quick! Commit felonies so we can put out these fires!
and where o where are all KAHMALA's people? this was her program: A dollar a day for prisoners fighting CA wildfires...sounds like a nightmare plan, but that's what she did, isn't it? Uncle Joe approved this message.
