McDs sued for allegedly sending franchise owners on ’financial suicide mission’

Over 50 former McDonald’s franchise owners who are black are suing the chain, alleging the company steered them to less-profitable restaurants. The group alleges McDonald’s didn’t give them the same support and opportunities given white franchisees and steered them to neighborhoods with lower sales volumes and higher security costs. The group is seeking compensation of $4M to $5M per store.

I've been black for a long time and I've never been (steered) in the wrong direction. Stop making excuses, do your homework, and succeed. Buying in a bad area... MFer, you know they're bad areas... it's the same spot you and your friends used to go to!

What?! How about due diligence? How about every property I've bought, I have done my own cost analysis. Every multi unit property that I have bought, I've looked at the historical rents and future possible gains and then made a decision to buy...

That's how entrepreneurship works. You take risks, and if you succeed in those risks then there will be rewards. However, not every area is equal. You judge the risks based upon information, and if any of these black franchisees did any research they shouldn't have taken the risks.
