Trump: some police officers just ’choke’ like in golf

President Trump explained cops making a mistake to a golfer making a mistake. ’They choke. Just like in a golf tournament, they miss a three-foot putt’, Trump said. Asked to clarify his analogy, Trump said, ’You’ve got a quarter of a second to make a decision. If you don’t make the decision, and you’re wrong, you’re dead’. Trump’s comments came in the context of the Jacob Blake shooting.

Officers have to make a split second decision and their lives are over the lives of people physically resisting and posing a threat to them. Don’t resist police, fight them in court

So? This analogy works. Police have much more pressure than golf, and people let the pressure of golf get to them. Police officers aren't cyborgs and the pressure of the job combined with having to make split second decisions certainly impacts these things. You have to be a special kind of dense to think he's saying police mistakes only matter as much as a missed golf putt.

Lower your head out of the clouds to see the society you are failing to be making such distanced remarks.

I'm sure some of you Trump sheep agree with this devalue of life and the lack in ability to see some changes need to be made in police training. To compare police to a golfer is total disconnect .Trump 2020🇺🇸

Terrible analogy or this:

So now it's ok to report that the President cares no more about people shot by police than golf balls, right? Why else is this a story? But the truth is his record gives context to his speach. President Trump has a record. And it's very different than the press messenging how they want to portray his words. President trump's commuting sentences and pardons reveal that he is both compassionate, and concerned for poor, the underprivileged, and those who have recieved too harsh sentencing and have bo recourse on their own. He has especially been compassionate to minorities and those often considered underprivileged. He's proven to be the greatest president since Lincoln for minorities freedom and even better for their financial prosperity. To all who reflect care to look at his record, his actions for Americans speak louder than the words spoken against him.

Laura Ingrahm had to quickly cut him off and try to put some words in his mouth because she could see this was going downhill quickly. 🤦. Good God what a complete incompetent fool.

Some more of Donalds brilliance shining through. You can just figure the absolute worst possible reaction to any given situation and that's this knuckledraggers go to.

His analogies are awesome. Yet he's not wrong. A majority of people who become cops either do it for power, have a complex or need an outlet to express themselves. Very few go in with the idea that they want to protect an serve. That line " to protect an serve" is a better fit for the military.

Oh yeah. That guy who was walking away from you was on the verge of ending your life. What a douche.

So for him a murder is like a bad golf putt. Nice to know how important human lives are to him. Just an “oops” by those with more power than self-control.

That's why cops need to carry alternatives to bullets. I watched a video of a white guy doing EXACTLY the same thing as Blake, walking away from cops who were yelling at him. Guess what the cop did to the white guy. Tased. The white guy got tased, not shot. There are pistol mods that add a pepper spray canister. There are ALTERNATIVES to bullets, and we need more of our cops using them on criminals instead of protesters.

Protect and serve. There's too many armchair quarterbacks telling the good cops how to do their job.

How is this news?

Wow.....par for the course. Can't wait to start reading his supporters denying he ever said this 3 months from now.

That's some real comedy gold. What did we do to deserve such a great president?

I get what he's trying to say. Police work is not an easy job. But man he says it in such a stupid way. He's the president of the United States. He's embarrassing. I wish they offered seminars in Elementary then later in high school to educate the next generation on how to interact with police, procedures during an emergency, and a clarification on their rights. But the subject is too political to ever be a reality.

As some one who has anxiety and cracks under pressure, I can relate to choking. I couldn't imagine being in situations a cop would be in.

Sergio 3 months

I think they should be allowed to fire on you if you resist, fight back or try to run, no consequences
