Twitter given three weeks to comply with Indian content code

Twitter has been given three weeks to comply with India’s Information Technology Rules 2021, which came into effect last week. Twitter has protested the new rules on grounds that they inhibit free speech. India’s government labeled Twitter’s reaction as meddling in the nation’s affairs. It’s unclear what would happen to Twitter if it does not comply with the new court order.

Lol when these companies get a taste of their own medicine it's suddenly unfair. I understand the circumstances aren't exactly the same but the end results will be. India won't hesitate to block Twitter if they don't comply.

Facebook recently came under fire in Canada on somewhat similar grounds. Maybe a change in tides here?

But that's not even an argument. India has no legal freedom of speech...

That's ironic that Twitter is worried about free speech... India is it's own country... free speech is a privilege in 98% of the world not a right
