With the UK economy getting affected due to the novel coronavirus crisis, a recent report has revealed that more than 10 percent of shops in Britain now stand empty, a reflection of recent widespread closures. The vacancy rate rose from 9.8 percent in January 2020 to 10.8 percent in July, with Britain’s store based retail sector, outside of food, taking a knock due to the COVID induced lockdown.
This is what the government's wanted, to destroy small businesses and destroy the economy.
I work in retail and I have only recently come back about a month ago but in our town centre (Cambridge) about half have gone even shops thats have been there 20years gone. Also it seems it has pushed most brands to go online only such like Cath kidson in the UK. Im very very lucky to still be in work considering all of this luckily my store manged to stay profitable.
