GM buys stake in Nikola, to make its first electric vehicle

General Motors said it has acquired an 11% equity stake in Nikola, the electric vehicle startup, for a sum of $2 billion. You seem to feel very strongly about that. I don't know where the future of cars is going to take us. One good thing that is coming from the electric car industry is progress on better batteries. Which will be helpful in many different applications. So since there is profit to be had from electric cars having smaller longer lasting batteries it is still going to be a worthwhile endeavour even if electric isn't the future for cars.
