Drivers warned by billboards by Texas police group to ’enter at your own risk’

Billboards have been put up on Austin city limits by a Texas police group, with the billboards warning drivers entering the city to do so at their ’own risk’ after the city cuts its police budget. The #BackTheBlue billboards were released by the Texas Municipal Police Association, which is also the largest police group in the state, ’to raise public awareness that Austin is a defunded city.’

The *Austin* police department was defunded, so the largest police group in Texas (TMPA) purchased billboard signs to highlight this fact and increase the public's awareness. The TMPA is _not_ a police department, nor are they a division of the Austin PD; it is a police membership group engaging in political advocacy for its members.
