Houston police fire 4 officers over April fatal shooting

The Houston Police Department on Thursday fired four of its officers involved in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in April. Police shot dead Nicolas Chavez on the night of April 21. The department also released the body camera footage of the confrontation. On that night, the officers fired a total of total of 24 rounds at Chavez, out of which only 3 were deemed ’objectively reasonable.’

Yet only one review board member, the asst chief, recommended firing the officers. 6 others voted to change Dept Policy and training. It’s ok though the city is going to lose this big time. By saying any shots were justified they are saying deadly force was justified. If each cop sees a valid reason to shoot and the board says shooting was justified then what are they fired for ? The city gave each officer a gun that fires 15 rounds from one Magizine, and 3 magazines to each officer. Restraint was used considering 4 officers could have fired 45 rounds each. Meaning the city gave them the ability to fire 180 rounds and they shot 24.
