Isaac Herzog, scion of a prominent Israeli family, is elected president

Isaac Herzog, a veteran politician and the scion of a prominent Israeli family, was elected president Tuesday. Herzog will be Israel’s 11th president, succeeding Reuven Rivlin, who is set to leave office next month after seven years in office. Herzog, 60, is a former head of Israel’s Labor Party and opposition leader who unsuccessfully ran against PM Netanyahu in the 2015 parliamentary elections.

For those who find that surname nostalgic but can't put a finger on it, you are thinking of Werner Herzog.

"Pedigreed"? 😂😂😂 This is the guy who openly admitted he goes to sleep under stress and said'he"d "keep Netanyahu uni"ed" (meaning Jerusalem) on live air. The only reason anyone even knows his name is that there was a *massive* effort to get him elected with Obama-funded organizations like One Voice back during Huss'in's second term. FYI for anyone impressed by the title -'it's virtually meaningless in Israel, carries zero political benefits and involves mostly ceremonial duties.'It's where Israeli politici'ns' careers go to die in peace.
