Scientists find gas linked to living organisms in atmosphere of Venus

Scientists have detected an unstable and unexpected gas in Venus’ atmosphere that, on Earth at least, is commonly produced by some microbes. The find could be a sign of life in the upper cloudy atmosphere of the molten world where conditions are considerably less hellish. ’The gas is at higher levels than known methods of production.’ Astrobiologist Lewis Dartnell explains.

This. claim has been made many many times in the past. I am going to wait for better evidence as this is going to require several years of review by scientists.

If this bears fruit, it means one of two things: A) Evolution of life from inorganic compounds is extremely common in the universe. Or B) Panspermia is the likely method life spread in the Solar system, either from one planet spread to others, or from an extrasolar source, which means life elsewhere.
