Boston University teacher killed in apartment elevator accident

A woman who taught French in the Boston University was killed in an elevator accident in her apartment building. Officers found Carrie O’Connor, 38, in the elevator on the first floor of a building in the city’s Allston neighborhood. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Later, police said she died of traumatic asphyxia.

Traumatic asphyxia is the term used for a crushing weight being applied to the chest not allowing for intake of air, and sometimes pushing air out entirely. Terrible way to die. Condolences to her family.
