Global recession not as deep as expected in 2020, says OECD

The OECD said that the global economy has performed better-than-expected but is still on track for an ’unprecedented’ decline in output. In its latest outlook, the OECD predicts that the world GDP will contract by 4.5% this year, an upward revision from a 6% fall predicted in June. The OECD expects the global economy to grow by 5% in 2021, while maintaining an ’exceptionally uncertain’ outlook.
