US retail sales climb for third straight month in August, but losing momentum

Retail sales across America rose in August for the third month in a row. The government said data showed retail sales increased 0.6% last month. However, the upward momentum appears to be losing fizz, which started after a big burst of demand following the reopening of businesses earlier this summer that were shut down in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
