Smoke from US wildfires reaches Europe, satellite images show

Satellite images have revealed that smoke from the raging wildfires in the United States have reached as far as Europe. The operators of some of the Copernicus satellite monitoring systems said the fires in California, Oregon and Washington have emitted an estimated 33.4 million tons of carbon and the smoke traveled 8,000 kilometers through the atmosphere to UK and other parts of northern Europe.
