Red Cross, Salvation Army hope rain will bring Oregon wildfires under control

First drops of rain on Tuesday brought some hope that firefighters can start controlling the 29 wildfires raging across Oregon. The Salvation Army’s wildfire response in Oregon said crews were making progress and the first raindrops in Clackamas County made them hopeful. The American Red Cross Cascades Region in Medford said there was slight improvement, but the threat remains.
