White House announces $13b for Puerto Rico for recovery from Hurricane Maria

The White House said on Friday that the U.S. emergency agency is sending nearly $13 billion to Puerto Rico to help it recover from Hurricane Maria. It includes the federal share of $11.6 billion for the electrical grid system and the recovery of its education system. Most of it, $9.6 billion, will go to Puerto Rico’s electric power authority, and $2 billion will go to its Department of Education.

13 billion to Puerto Rico when people here are unable to work and still haven’t seen that executive order that was going to help the states, I’ll be surprised if the money leaves D.C. in the first place
