’We have this obligation, without delay’, Trump says on SC vacancy

On Saturday, President Trump announced via Twitter that he is going to move forward with the nomination of a new Supreme Court Justice who will be serving as the replacement of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. ’We have this obligation, without delay!’, the White House tweet read. This decision struck a ’confirmation battle’ in the Senate.

I love how the libtards are threatening civil war if Trump tries to get someone nominated before the election. The same people who cried about getting "kidnapped" the feds and are allergic to bullets.

We elected Trump to, among other things, appoint SC Justices. What's so hard to understand about that?

Republicans don't need talking points. They control the Senate and the White House. It's a done deal. That's how the process works. The president nominates them for the position and the Senate confirms it. Period. I'm not sure if that is a talking point, but it's the only point that matters.

Question is.... if trump chooses a female how many men will accuse her of rape?

I wonder what the words from the left will be when we are dealing with multiple legal challenges to the election due to the unnecessary mass mail in voting and extended counting sleight of hand duplicity. It is very unclear to me what happens if the SCOTUS is unable to successfully adjudicate the challenges. Seems like they are really just saying "F the country."

My wish is that we see what the Supreme Court was actually designed to do. The Interpretation of the law and the Constitution. These partisan rulings that have all conservative justices on one side, an the liberals on the others is an embarrassment.

AOC calls for Democrats to be more radical. Blue check celebs agree it's time to burn it down. https://youtu.be/4VYcyGLi3-A https://youtu.be/6lCQKe0adKk The riots are back on in portland because of her death, but the FEDs are making more arrests. Using heavy smoke as cover on one end, officers moved in from behind and made multiple surprised arrests of the #antifa rioters in Portland tonight. https://t.co/MmZR48kdvW https://youtu.be/6lCQKe0adKk

Trump and the Senate absolutely should nominate and confirm the replacement ASAP. :D No reason to delay this, there is no obligation, duty, principle, or "honor" to wait. Besides, it will enhance the flavor of victory.

But as Mitch mcconnell said when he blocked Obama's nomination: it's an election year, let's just wait on it.

When people use the term “libtards” and would rather be grouped into the left or the right, you are just as bad as the other sheep who willingly put yourselves in that category.

I do think that if the democrats had senate majority in 2016 they would have filled scalia's seat too, but they knew they wouldn't get the majority. Republicans have senate majority so they are in a position to get the seat. It's unfortunate that McConell essentially set a precedent, but it's not legally binding. RBG was a pioneer in her field and extremely respected, but that doesn't mean it's her seat...There has been history of ties when only 8 justices are serving, and that complicates things. I would really love confirmation if RBG really said that as her last words, because she served our country so well I would like to respect her wishes, but at the same time it creates problems having a vacant seat in the highest court with the most important and sensitive decisions for our country

We need another Antonin Scalia. The last one died mysteriously on vacation and was immediately embalmed to avoid a potential autopsy.

Hardly a real white nationalist. Democrat on Democrat attacks to blame on conservatives.

This can be removed as an election issue if Trump and the Republican senate push is through before November. Get it done and dusted. Trump already has at least 1 woman on his shortlist. Picking a woman will remove the Dems accusations of rape. As long as the woman judge is qualified and not just chosen because if her gender, then I say go for it. Full stream ahead.

Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite-party president’s Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year. https://www.republicanleader.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/mcconnell-statement-on-the-passing-of-justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg It's normal not unusual. It''s the way it always goes. The party that controls the senate, always matters.
