Teen honored after saving family by pulling them from a burning car

A teen from Waterbury, Connecticut, has been lauded for his bravery after he saved a woman and her three children from a burning car earlier this month. 18-year-old Justin Gavin was walking on West Main Street when he noticed the car and ran towards it. He opened the car door for the mother to escape, before rescuing the kids including the 1-year-old. The police department honored Gavin as a hero.

And the kid thought "You know what, my Rugrats Hoodie will be perfect for this occasion." Kids make me laugh inexorably. Good on you man. Courage is a fickle thing. Hold onto it.

Outstanding bravery and selflessness. A stark contrast to the youth that watched, filmed and laughed while a man drowned.
