Uncle Ben’s new name announced in move to avoid criticism

Mars Inc, owner of the rice brand Uncle Ben’s, has announced that they are moving forward with a name change in a response to criticism on its racial stereotyping. The new brand name, Ben’s Original, will be presented on packaging next year, along with the removal of the logo depicting a black man. This decision was encouraged by criticizers, following recent Black Lives Matter protests.

Holy Cow! Someone named Ben + farmed rice + was called Uncle = 'RACIST?' I felt bad we lost Aunt Jemima and the purty butter maiden, but I suppose our white girl carrying our Sun-Made Raisins is ok bc she's white and therefore nobody can get pistoff about her race. Is our culture being run by comatose people or what? And why are we putting up with this? Brand-fixing can seem like innocuous stuff but these are precedents being set for way bigger things. Oh wait they're already ripping heads off statues and trying to knock over the Washington Monument, I suggest we have a national Cultural Mis-Appropriation Day, where everybody dresses up as somebody else's culture because freedom of speech and freedom of expression, act like it applies to nonviolent behavior too at least on One Day of the Year. Let it apply to kids and adults, since they don't want to let kids go Trick or Treating anymore, and they don't want to let them gather for an indoor party instead. Got a liitle off-topic there, just maybe.
