Sources says JPMorgan likely to settle spoofing case by paying ~ $1bn penalty

A person familiar with the matter said that JPMorgan Chase & Co is expected to pay ~$1bn to resolve market manipulation investigations by US authorities into its trading of metals futures & Treasury securities. This would lift a regulatory overhang over bank which was for years and mark a win for govt’s efforts to fix illegal trading techniques, such as spoofing, in the precious metals markets.
