Excess belly fat linked to a higher risk of early death, study finds

A new research by a team of international scientists has suggested that excess belly fat is linked to a higher risk of early death than overall body fat. It also found that larger hips and thighs are associated with a lower risk. The findings, published in ’The BMJ,’ are based on the results of 72 studies involving more than 2.5 million participants who were tracked for between three and 24 years.
