Brain-eating amoeba found in tap water in a city in Texas

The city of Lake Jackson in Texas went under a ’do not use water order’ after a brain-eating amoeba was found to have contaminated the tap water. The officials voiced, ’The impact of this threat is severe. The potential damages include sickness and death.’ The order is said to remain in place till the water system has been ’thoroughly’ flushed out and tests on water samples come positive.

If this is true then it's absolutely horrible. No matter where you live in the world you should be entitled to be able to drink SAFE water. My heart goes out to anyone who has been affected by this...I refuse to blame any party politically for this...

Just for clarity, as I did a research paper on Naegleria Fowleri (Brain eating amoeba) and infection from this is one of the fastest moving and most fatal conditions in the world. It's something like 90% mortality rate within 72 hours. Usually this only can exist in warm still water and gets into the body through the nose when swimming.
