UK imposes sanctions on Belarusian President

Sanctions have been imposed on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and seven others by UK, for reportedly rigging the August polls and subsequent suppressing of protests. Similar sanctions have even been imposed by Canada. These sanctions entail a freeze of assets and banning of travel. This is the first time that UK has imposed sanctions on an acting President.
