Trump won’t condemn white supremacy; tells Proud Boys ’stand back and stand by’

During the first debate, President Trump did not explicitly condemn white supremacists or militia groups when asked if he would call for them to stand down. ’I would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing. Not from the right-wing. I’m willing to do anything. I want to see peace,’ Trump said. Pressed specifically on the matter, Trump said, ’Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.’

[Expand comment] Ok so for those of you who don't understand what the issue is, let's do an example and based on this example we'll know how much leeway you'll give a person, so here goes: Moderator: will you condemn pedophiles right now on stage? Trump: yes Moderator: ok go ahead and do it Trump: *pauses for 3 seconds* who do you want me to condemn? Moderator: pedophiles... *someone says Michael Jackson* Trump: I condemn Michael Jackson! Do you not see how this looks very disingenuous...even if you were to make the argument he condemned ONE person (or group) it looks really bad that you can't just say I condemn pedophiles, ALL OF THEM, you don't need to be specific... Now just change pedophiles to white supremacist and you should get it or you'll just reveal how easy it is to fool you...
