Iraq calls for U.S. to reconsider the threat to remove embassy

The Foreign Minister of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, called on the U.S. to retract the threat of closing its embassy and remove all troops. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Iraq’s President Barham Saleh and Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi last week saying that the embassy would be closed and all US personnel would leave Iraq if Iraq is unable to protect the embassy from repeated rocket attacks.
