U.S. announces revised second quarter economic statistics

The U.S. Department of Commerce revised estimates of economic activity during April-June 2020. GDP, originally estimated to have declined at a 31.7% annual rate is now measured at -31.4%. This represents an actual decline of about 8%. Preliminary estimates for July-Sept., to be released in late October, are expected to show the economy recovered about two-thirds of the way.

This is such a dishonest take. Every article takes the performance of a single quarter and extrapolated it to the entire year. I have never seen that done before this year.
