Subway bread is not bread, rules Irish court

Ireland’s highest court has ruled that the bread served at Subway cannot be defined as bread. The ruling stressed that starch used in Subway sandwiches is too sugary (crossing the limit of sugar and fat making up more than 2% of the total weight of flour in the dough) to meet the definition of ’bread’. The case pertained to whether the bread counts as a staple food and therefore is VAT-exempt.

I bet Ireland doesn't have to obesity problem America does. Nothing wrong with standards. Keeps medical costs down, which keep socialist insurance out!
