Facebook ’took a page from Big Tobacco’ to make the website more addictive as per the former director of monetization. Tim Kendall wrote during a testimony before the House Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee that he feared that they were slowly moving towards a civil war. He further said that he felt his job demanded him to turn as much attention as possible into unprecedented profits.
Please for the love of God stop giving your content to platforms that give you nothing in return... ❤
Like gaming. Extremely addictive, yet the lives destroyed by it aren't being protected.
It is called DARPAbook
Absolutely diabolical and completely believable!
That must be why facebook held zero appeal for me.
Anyone who doesn't see Facebook for what it is, a business, is wilfully ignorant. They are always going to act in a way that drives clicks, views, likes.......to make more money facts and harm caused be damned. As a user i feel it important to be aware of how, why and when content is presented and believe every user should be aware of how they are enslaving your eyes and fingers to make money. Cute cat videos are the only exception.....
