Apple has filed a lawsuit against GEEP Canada, one its former partners for recycling and dismantling Apple iPhones, iPads, and Watches. Apple says GEEP has been reselling over 100,000 of its devices that it sent to them for dismantling. Apple found that from over 500,000 devices it had sent to GEEP between 2015 and 2017, 103,845 of them were still accessing the internet through cellular networks.
If I pay you to dismantle a product you should dismantle it. If I pay you to get rid of data by destroying the device I shouldn't have to worry about it.
Please, crack down on the big bad recyclers more.
Work for the company for 5 years, quit 3 years ago... not shocked tbh
If it ain't broken don't dismantle it. After the primary purchase of such products happens, companies can sell the products they have available as long as they are in working order.
