A California prosecutor announced that she will reopen an investigation into the killing of Oscar Grant, a black man at a train station by a transit officer in 2009. Grant, 22, was fatally shot in the back by Johannes Mehserle on New Year’s Day. Mehserle was charged with murder, but served only 11 months. Mehserle claimed he mistakenly grabbed his gun instead of his Taser.
Im not an expert here but doesn't that fall under some double jeopardy ruling?
Why is someone doing this and why is it on the news.
Jezz we are screwed is there one prosecutor out there that isn’t violating their oaths ? All only seem to be worried about their political future and seem willing to simply ruin what’s left of the justice system. If the cop is in jail what’s the new investigation going to reveal ? Is there any chance it will reveal they were wrong the first time ? Very doubtful

Your reopening the investigation but the officer has already been charged and served prison time so regardless if you found any new findings they can't be charged for the same crime twice so all you're doing is wasting taxpayer money.
