Senator slams Biden admin for ’absolutely absurd’ language

Sen. Lankford, Oklahoma, grilled HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra over the decision to use ’birthing person’ instead of ’mother’ in the Biden administration’s $6 trillion budget. At Thursday’s Senate Finance Committee hearing, Mr. Lankford said he ’noticed you changed a term in your budget, where you shifted in places from using the term ’mother’ to ’birthing people,’ rather than ’mother.’’

Wow, if this is true that “birthing person “ is a term gaining popularity with the LGBTQ+ community and the ‘woke’ culture, it’s a stunning acknowledgment on their part that they are not mothers or fathers but “birthing persons” and, i suppose then, “sperm donors.”

So your're critical of how the right (in your opinion) wastes time on unimportant issues while you just typed half a novel that only proves that you dont understand the ramifications of being told how to think?

I think it is very telling of the modern Republican party that this is the type of dialogue that is being engaged in by their elected officials. It is indicative of a broader trend for the GOP, one in which there really aren't any legitimate policy proposals outside of lowering taxes. The way that the GOP appeals to their base now is almost exclusively through what is best described as "culture war" issues. Transgender people, and their participation in athletic events in particular, have become a major focal point in recent months, this despite the fact that trans individuals only make up around 0.6% of the American adult population. It's a non-problem, something that most people couldn't even cite an example of off the top of their heads because it is so obscure, and yet it has become a huge conversation for the American right. While politics on both the left and the right tend to be heavily operated by fear, I think it is particularly unique in the case of Republicans that these sort of vague cultural matters have become central to their entire platform. It is a fascinating phenomenon.

"birthing person" sounds derogatory to me. Sounds like you are nothing more than an incubator.

The rise of transgender politics dovetails with the transhumanist movement of egoic opposition to wild, natural relations in favor of synthetic, managed projections of desire, often manifested as an inability to accept death and other physical limitations and inevitabilities. It's pathos. This certainly isn't to say that transgender people do not deserve the right to live with freedom from discrimination in a society that provides an opportunity for them to have dignity and respect just like everyone else, but it's important to consider psychological health, and health in general in all of this. You are attempting to erase biological facts for psychological maladaptations. I can't know what others are going through and what they have to do to cope with their existence. I don't have any business telling people how to live or what they should be called, but I can tell you that the word mother is certainly not a bad word, and if some people will refer to themselves as birthing people, so be it, but we won't stop using mother in my house or in the world. To us, that word is sacred.

Don't worry. "Birthing people" will become the new norm regardless and you cuckservatives will go along with it because you're afraid of the social consequences.

“Birthing person”. Has the left now, finally, reduced a woman’s usefulness to her genitalia? I have always heard it’s the conservative right that we’re responsible for this “handmaids tale” future dystopia. Looks like it’s the left after all…as usual.

Absurdity is becoming normal and that's depressing! A couple years ago, I laughed off the woke as a passing phase. Now, it's as if they actually expect us to accept this bullshit. Sad thing is...there's people who actually do🙁

Typical. Indicative of a party with no direction and an aging base. Never mind fiscal matters, the modern GOP is consumed with culture and fear. Conservative “values” are little more than a lack of originality and a nostalgic longing for a time that never really existed. As for this dude, an obscure half w!t whose name I’ve already forgotten, his 15 minutes of fame ended 14 minutes ago.

H@ha, they could not use the term “Birthers” for obvious reasons. So they went with “Birthing People,” which sounds twice as 5tupid. Such absurdity. There were so many better alternatives. Like ... “Mothers”? I wonder if they are going to insist on altering a certain profanity that includes the term “mother” as well? ROFL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What about a woman who can't or won't give birth? Are they reduced to valueless turds?

Isn't senility wonderful? For the sake of consistency, laws require permanently set definitions to include gender.
