Thousands protest in Jakarta against new jobs law

Protests continued in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday for the third day against a polarizing new job law passed earlier this week. Hundreds gathered near the presidential palace, shouting and throwing stones. Police responded by firing tear gas and a water cannon. The jobs creation bill has faced criticism over undermining labor rights and weakening environmental protections.
