The state of Louisiana, which is recovering from the effects of an earlier hurricane, is bracing for Hurricane Delta, which is the 10th named storm to make US landfall in the current year. This has broken a record that had stood since 1916. Delta hit Creole in Louisiana as a Category 2 Hurricane with wind speeds of up to 100 mph. It caused widespread power cuts and weakened to a Category 1 storm.
