US forces hit Taliban with air strikes

US forces have undertaken several airstrikes in support of Afghan security force against the Taliban in the Helmand province over the past couple of days. A spokesman for the US military confirmed that the strikes did not violate the US-Taliban agreement signed in February. A spokesman for the provincial governor in Helmand said Taliban fighters had started coordinated attacks over the past week.
