Supreme Court agrees with Trump’s bid to end census count on October 31

The Supreme Court has ruled that the US Census Bureau can end its 2020 count on October 31. This comes as a boost to the Trump administration that wanted an early conclusion of the census with the presidential election due on November 3. However, Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented. She said, ’Meeting the deadline at the expense of the accuracy of the census is not a cost worth paying.’

While I disagree with her dissent, I absolutely agree with her statement, “the harms associated with an inaccurate census are avoidable and intolerable...", which is the entire reason the census was cut short. Illegal immigrants will throw off an accurate census count and should not be allowed to take part.

Why are all these headlines calling it 'cut short'? The ruling is that the count is not being extended beyond the original schedule. 'Cut short' implies less time than planned. Can't these people, for once, write an honest headline?

Only Trump could make something as normal as the Census a problem.
