UK & EU impose sanctions on six Russian govt officials over Navalny poisoning

The UK & EU Union have imposed sanctions on many individuals and a institution on back of the novichok poisoning of Alexei Navalny. Six members of Russian govt, including the first deputy chief of staff to President Putin, Sergei Kiriyenko, and deputy ministers to the ministry of defense, Alexei Krivoruchko and Pavel Popov, have been awarded EU and UK travel bans and asset freezes for near future.

And yet the German won't shut down Nordstrom 2. This is just window dressing. The EU doesn't care if Russia is becoming increasingly totalitarian; they need the energy.

That's the right move. Imagine if one of the most influential populists of your nation has been poisoned with chemical you deny the existence of. There should be a full investigation, yet Russian government has closed it after just a few weeks. It is an absolutely incompetent action of the government, and if Russia does actions like this while having the Universal Declaration of human rights signed, its officials should definitely be punished.
