Several hurt as French police break up mass rave

Five police officers were injured overnight in western France as they broke up a 1,500-strong illegal rave, authorities said on Saturday. Defying an 11 pm Covid curfew, the group had attempted to set up the party at a horse racing track near Redon in Brittany. As per reports, there were ’very violent clashes’ when 400 police intervened. One partygoer lost a hand in the clashes

Curfew is authoritarian and everyone who upholds or enforces it should be jailed for life or worse.

I'm really pro police, but the ravers were definitely within their rights. Curfews are tyranical and should be protested. Good on them for holding the rave. Whoever gave the order to put the police operation into motion should be repremanded, and the politicians keeping the curfew in effect should be facing a potential end to their political careers if they don't correct the law.
